Overview
In the PostPilot app, campaigns can be defined in two ways:
- An individual direct mail initiative sent to one customer list or segment. E.g., Postcards sent to win back customers who last purchased 90 days ago and purchased 2–3 times, named “May Winback: LOD = 730 | NO > 3.” (LOD means “last order date;” NO means “number of orders.)
- These individual initiatives can be found in the “All” toggle.
- Groups of individual initiatives. E.g., May 2025 campaigns.
Default campaign view. Names + coupons are redacted. Campaign groups are not active.
Within the Campaigns section of the PostPilot app, the default view (”All”) will show a list of individual campaigns (max 20 individual campaigns on one page).
Accessing Campaigns
From your main PostPilot dashboard, click on the second icon from the top, on the left menu. “Campaigns” will pop up in a hover state.
Understanding the Campaigns (All) View
In the default view, every individual campaign (aside from those that have been archived) will appear in a list.
There are a number of columns that provide details about individual campaigns.
This section will explain information, filters, and data within Campaigns (All).
All vs. Groups
This toggle will allow you to see the default Campaigns (All) view. Clicking on Groups will introduce a different screen (see “Understanding the Campaigns (Groups) View”).
- Note: “Groups” will only appear once you’ve created at least one campaign group.
This view can filter campaigns in a variety of ways. By typing in a word that appears in the “Campaign Name,” all campaigns that include that keyword will populate.
By clicking the All Types dropdown, the following filtering options will appear:
- Automated: The individual campaign has been set to work dynamically. As soon as a lead or customer hits the campaign parameters (e.g., LOD = 90; NO > 3), a mailer will be sent to them.
- One-off: The individual campaign will launch once.
By clicking the All Categories dropdown, the following filtering options will appear:
- Retention: Campaigns targeting customers who have purchased before.
- Retargeting: Campaigns targeting leads who have not purchased before but have shown some brand interaction (browsed site, signed up for email list, added to cart, started checkout).
- Acquisition: Campaigns targeting individuals who have never purchased nor interacted with your brand.
By clicking the All Statuses dropdown, the following options will appear:
- Draft: An individual campaign has been created via the “New Campaign.” It can be edited.
- Ready to send: Cleared all pre-flight checks (design, data, targeting, etc.) and is approved.
- Queued: Submitted and is scheduled for printing but hasn’t yet been printed or mailed.
- Sending: In the process of sending campaign to print facility.
- Sent: Print facility has received campaign send details.
- Stopped: An automated campaign that has been stopped.
- Active: Refers to automated campaigns that are live.
- Insufficient Funds: Couldn’t proceed because the payment method on file doesn’t have enough available credit or funds to cover the campaign cost.
- Emergency Stopped: Immediately halted, even if it was already in the production pipeline.
By clicking the table icon next to the All Statuses dropdown, you can toggle a wide array of data points to populate in the overall Campaigns (All) view. The entire list of possible data points is listed and defined below.

Data Shown in Campaigns (All)
The columns that appear in the main Campaigns (All) dashboard view will be based on what was selected from the table icon.
When you scroll to the right, you will see the rest of the columns you have chosen:
Grouping Campaigns
Before we move into the Campaigns (Groups) view, we’ll show you how to create campaign groups.
To add campaigns into a particular campaign group (or create a new campaign group), you can check individual campaigns, then press “Group [X] Campaign[s].”
Step 1: Choose individual campaign(s) to group.
Step 2: Add a Campaign Group Name and click “Create Group."
- Important note: You can also add campaigns to a current campaign by choosing an existing Campaign Group Name in the dropdown shown below.
Step 3: You will then be taken to the Campaign group details overview. There, you can click on a specific Campaign Group to see the individual campaigns within the Group.
Grouping Notes:
- Campaigns can only be in ONE Campaign Group at a time.
- Campaign Groups can be a mix of one time and automated campaigns.
- Within the main Campaigns dashboard view (with the All | Groups toggle), you can hide currently grouped campaigns. This way, you can find and group campaigns not currentl in groups.
- To change the name or archive a campaign, click the pencil icon next to Campaign group details (see below):
